Seva Project Brain Storming Meeting

There are many medical students in different colleges who want to serve the society. They do not get the opportunity to do so. Many students wish to contribute in some social project during their education & even after completion of education. "Sevankur" activity was started in 1995-97 from Government Medical College, Aurangabad. The activity was started as informal interaction during evening hours in boy's hostel. That resulted in strong emotional bonding amongst the students & founders. Many activities emerged as outcome of this close emotional bonding. Afterwards when these students were admitted for post-graduation in medical colleges of Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra they expressed their wish to contribute for the society.

Then "Sevankur" decided to conduct special meeting for such students who were interested in "Seva Projects" once in two months. Normally 25-30 students use to remain present for the meeting which was held at Yashwant Bhavan, Lower Parel, Mumbai. A daylong meeting starting with breakfast at 9 AM use to conclude at around 6 PM with lunch and tea breaks. The meeting was minutely planned in every aspect. The intention was to create "Socially conscious health care leaders who will be capable enough to establish integrated health care project in future in any part of the country".

The outcome such meetings was establishment of Shri Guruji Rugmalaya at Nashik in 2008. Today the hospital is of 100 beds with most modern facility of radiation therapy and many other specialties. The hospital in undergoing second phase of expansion in coming year wherein it will be equipped with 200+ beds and many other facilities.

Similarly few students from RCSM GMC & CPR hospital, Kolhapur expressed their wish to participate in "Seva Project" in future. First meeting of such interested students was conducted on 23^rd January 2022, Sunday in Kanheri Math, Near Kolhapur under the leadership of Dr Shrikrushna Chaudhari (84079 72747) & Dr Abhijeet Sarkate (70205 93707).  Meeting was successful because of strong support of Shri Manish Kulkarni (94036 04801).

The next meeting is planned on 10^th April 2022, Sunday at Kanheri Math, Near Kolhapur at 9.30 AM. Students interested in establishment of "Seva Project" in future after completion of education are invited for this meeting. If the location is not suitable for students to participate, "Sevankur" can shift the location to Pune or Mumbai so that maximum students can be benefited.  You can communicate your desired location to Shri Manish Kulkarni (94036 04801).
